Astrobiology Institute (NAI) carries out collaborative research and education
in astrobiology, the interdisciplinary science that seeks answers
to these fundamental questions. It supports investigation of
these issues on Earth and serves as a portal to space for the

The Center coordinates and conducts extensive research related to the global water cycle, the biogeochemical cycles, Earth System history, and human impacts on the Earth system. Institute of Molecular Evolutionary Genetics (IMEG) has its home in Penn State's Biology department and has garnered international recognition for its leadership in the field. Penn State Astrobiology Research Center (PSARC) is established as a member institution of the NASA Astrobiology Institute (NAI) with the primary mission of conducting multidisciplinary research and education in Astrobiology.
